A great read Claire, this has so taken me back, I had forgotten about the bath pearls and the kiwi lip balm 😂The Body Shop’s banana conditioner was a personal fave despite needing to be bludgeoned out of the bottle

Thank you. “Bludgeoned out of the bottle” 😂 I missed that one because I can’t stand bananas. But someone reminded me of the grapefruit shower gel the other day and now I desperately want some.

LOVED your Dewberry post!!! I was more of a White Musk girl, but everything you described is SPOT ON!! Bring back the bath pearls!! I will be taking my tween daughter to the Body Shop to hear her thoughts..

Oooh feed back - I want to know what the teens think!

Absolutely love your writing Claire. Never consciously thought to layer fragrances - I was White Mist but probably won’t be trying it if they revive that one. And I’d forgotten all about Hide the Blemish 😱 Remeber how sticky and oily it always got.

Kids these days don’t know how lucky they are! Multiple shades of affordable and effective concealer? We could never…

I know right?!

Ps. On fragrances I have long been obsessed with something I think is called a cologne but is popular in France and possibly Spain and also - maybe baby related (baby cologne?) though I’ve always got a whiff from adults. The closest I’ve found here is something called Florida Water, from a stall in Brixton Market - I dilute it and use it as a spritz. The French/Spanish version is a bit less sharp. Thought it might be something you’d come across 😁

Oooh I don't know it — it's tricky if you've only smelled it rather than seen it. If you have seen the bottle, google image search baby perfume and see if any of them look familiar!

Yes, have never seen it alas… but it’s a super ubiquitous smell on the Paris Metro; shower gel level ubiquitous. I think it’s so woven into life in France/Spain (at least) that it’s hard to identify. Next time I smell it on a passing tourist I’ll have to accost them!

Thank you. Ingredients lists don’t tell the whole story but there’s a lot you can tell about a product from them. Not least the order of ingredients - maybe I’ll go into that in a future newsletter. Will be interesting to see how the Dewberry story plays out…
