“Spacewashing” I cackled. In other things I feel like Lauder doesn’t want us to remember is Patrick Ta’s stint as La Mer’s celebrity makeup artist.

The way things are going at the moment I wouldn’t be surprised if they bring him back to distract us from everything else…

That Nambour trial info is fascinating and I’ve never heard of it before - thank you so much for sharing. Makes me feel slightly less guilty about not putting my kids in straight jackets to put sufficient sun lotion on them on holiday!

I always remember being told the reason we have non-stick pans is down to space travel and every time I use one I think of that!

I love this! I was about to say and now I will too, but I wanted to look into the history of it and (and I’m really sorry to ruin the association) I don’t think it’s true. Apparently Teflon was invented in the late 1930s and although NASA used it a lot, they didn’t invent it. However, manufacturers apparently used to market Teflon as being a “space-age” innovation, hence the connection. But apparently we wouldn’t have camera phones, memory phone mattresses and computer mice without space travel… https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/infographics/20-inventions-we-wouldnt-have-without-space-travel/
