So much details and so brilliant! My hair is outta control. I am using Oribe at the moment (a gift, and thank god, cos it’s so expensive) Dyson hairdryer is great. But I could put a vat of oil on my hair and it would soak it up in 10 seconds.

Your curls are amazing!

But totally agree that lockdown gave us hours to experiment with all sorts of things. Even washing my hat now is a bit of a treat, time wise. Thanks for the curly hair tips too… my boys are always on the lookout for excellent curl creams.

I know - but I just don't tend to be asked to write Valentine's beauty roundups so....

What a brilliant read, Claire. Thank you!

Oh thank you! Thanks so much for reading and do let me know what you'd like to see more of... (or less of....)

Gah, I’m totally with you on the diffusers not delivering the beautifully defined curls you get on a hot, air dry summer day - I don’t think, in my case, the highlights help (my curls definitely behaved better when I kept it naturally dark). Super interesting to hear about the GHD tech. And I totally agree about limited edition colours and tools - great timing if you happen to be buying something anyway, but otherwise … (although I’ve been so tempted with La Bonne Brosse and their special editions! 😩). And I love the Moroccanoil curl defining cream, after the OG oil, post-washing (applied first, to soaking wet hair, before wrapping in an Aquis hair turban. Phew!).

Small British brand. Holy Curls. The styling cream and gel are really great products. I’m back to my curls after a keratin hair smoothing and the Dyson Airstrait. Curls are stressful!

Oooh I shall check them out - thank you - what’s your routine with them? Do you apply in the shower to soaking wet hair?

Yup. Then squish and dry. I’ve got a Dyson. I find it all quite stressful! Day Two hair better for me. I hope by being consistent and letting our hair find its way we will be rewarded!! For travel I’ve also got a soft diffuser “sock” which I just keep in my washbag and that’s handy to have.

Loved this Claire thank you!! For curly hair, a few of the best I’ve tried is JVN air dry cream (no fuss and smells nice which is an added bonus!) and ouai curl cream gives great hold without crunch!

Cheaper option is to run a teeny drop of whatever conditioner you’re using through the ends, scrunch with the towel and off you go ❤️❤️

Thank you - I will experiment with both of these. Although I feel it's as much technique as it is products - I experimented with lots of squishing into sopping wet hair upside down but am open to other suggestions!

L’Oréal mousse is lovely too, the one in the deep burgundy shade ❤️
